In other weekend news, Keith Hanson celebrated his second birthday within a ten month period. No one is really sure why Keith has two birthdays in a year. Some believe that one birthday is for himself, while the second birthday is for his alter-ego "Keeto". Others believe it is just a meager attempt to get free food and attention from waitresses at Happy Joe's. Either way, Happy Birthday Keith/Keeto!!!

A wild pitch in the top of the ninth by the Crookston hurler gave the A's a 11-10 lead. The A's hung on from there to take a hard-fought voctory.

4/26/2004- Fetsch pitches gem
MUNICH, ND (AP) - Ada Athletics middle infielder Matt Fetsch made his first
appearance on the mound in nearly 2 years on Friday, in an organized
scrimmage versus the Munich Magician high school team in front of 300 plus
local fans at Durum King Field in Hamm's Park.

Fetsch worked 3 1/3 innings, allowing 1 unearned run on 2 hits, walked one,
struck out 4, and allowed 7 runners to reach base after being hit by pitch.

"I was behind in the count a lot today," a nearly parapalegic Fetsch
commented afterwards.  "But I did notice that some of those hot high school
girls in the dugout were, in fact, keeping stats, so I figured I'd throw at
guys when the count got to 3-0 to keep my walks per 9 innings down."

Fetsch left the game in the top of the 4th inning, with his squad leading
4-1, even though the count on hitter Riley Beck was 1-2.

"90 was my magical number today," said Fetsch, who is rehabilitating from a
separated throwing shoulder suffered this fall during a game of touch
football.

No, it wasn't 90 mph, or even kph, that Fetsch was talking about, but total
pitches.

"Most guys would probably throw a bullpen, or maybe even play catch before
they take the mound versus live hitters," said Fetsch.  "But I've been
around, and seen a lot of baseball, and 90 pitches was a precautionary
measure more then anything."

No word on if there is any ice left in the Munich Bar following Fetsch's
performance, nor if he will win a spot in the Ada Athletics pitching
rotation this coming season.
